During somewhat challenging weather conditions on the eastern seaboard last weekend my building shed is now standing in a lake! The building project seems to be intact but my choice of floor and building site is seriously in question. Not good. Will have to asses the project when everything has dried…

When dry-fitting the bulkheads to the backbone I devised a very easy alternative assembly and gluing method to the somewhat cumbersome procedure according to the plans.
After dry-fitting and fixing the whole structure precisely…

Hi, I run www.oceanswatch.org We do marine conservation and sustainable developement work with communities mainly in the SW Pacific. We have a mono and a Tiki 38 on loan to us to run our expeditions. In 2013 we are seeking another yacht to expand our work and would ideally like a Tiki 38 or larger Wharram. Loaning a boat to us might suit someone wanting to sell a Wharram who would like to wait awhile until the market picks up and does not want the…

New to this site, quite excited by the info you have all contributed, with years of combined experience in sailing and Wharrams. I have been looking at various designs and reached the conclusion that I would like to possibly build a Tangaroa mk1v but have not found anything on cost to build . Can anyone enlighten me on what the cost would be to build one excluding options ie electronics etc?? Thanks to everyone that contributes to this site , will definitely keep enjoying your insights…

I have a Fortress #23, two CREWSAVER inflatable PFD/harnesses and a Gale Rider drogue suitable for a 30ft monohull I wish to sell. All are as new and stored ashore from new. I think the drogue would be good up to the TIKI 38 size. Check new prices online and make me a reasonable offer to allan.poulter@gmail.com. Photos are available.
I also have a 75lb CQR anchor that has been stored ashore too but I think only a Tiki 46 buyer could use that size. just let me know.

Tonight, getting home from work, I see a big envelope resting on my apartment's door.
They were the full plans for my Tiki 30 number 226!
Feels like Christmas! Now I'll have to discipline myself and read and re-read carefully the instructions and plans till I can see in my head all of the building steps in detail. Then make a general buying list and many partial buying lists for every step of the building. No building allowed yet.
Then I'll start making all the small and…

Hi Guys , seems you may have me wrong , what I was intending by second hand plans was that a person that was going to start and did not due to curcumstance beyond his ?her control could not start ,,, not to be confused with a set of plans that have alraedy been used , I have full respect for the Wharram designs and would not insult any yacht designer as have some idea to the effort and knowledge that is applied to design work.
My Old open 30 designed plans I sold with the blessing of…

Im in Hawaiin now visiting family. I discover some inetresting boats in a near by port. I was suprised to see the two voyaging canoes Hokulea and Makalii. They are suposed to be going on another voyage in 6 monthes. The little sailing outrigger was out to sea when I first spotted it. I watched it sail all the way in. The Proa was built I believe in the Caroline Islands and is made in the traditional way. The Proa needs help . No one around to ask about it or how it got here.

Heck there probably isn'teven so much as a wooden toothpick aboard. Still this is one of the top end race boats of the world. The running rigging costs more than most Wharrams. This is top end boat building with a highly skilled pro crew and all in sinc and just flat haulin. Look at the acceleration beginning about 30 seconds. shazam!!!!…

My Pippie tender is now ready for launching and waiting for a mothership to serve. If according to plan I can start building the T30 in a couple of months. One of the purposes of building was to try out a few Aussie paint products etc. before committing on a larger scale. Time will show how that works out.
