Fitting bulkheads to backbone the easy way !

When dry-fitting the bulkheads to the backbone I devised a very easy alternative assembly and gluing method to the somewhat cumbersome procedure according to the plans.

After dry-fitting and fixing the whole structure precisely in place on the floor I simply unscrewed the stem and stern of the backbone and lifted, with the aid of two cheap trailer winches I use for just such jobs, the backbone up some 200mm and off the bulkheads. After spreading epoxy the appropriate places it was simply a matter of then lowering the backbone, screwing it back in place and cleaning up. Voila ! How easy was that !

I have enclosed a few photos of the procedure.

I'm now shaping, fitting and gluing the stringers in place hopefully finishing the first lower hull in a week or two.
