I have been sanding again for a nice change, yes the top coat is going on as the weather is less humid here now.I have chosen a color called saffron for the hulls,I love orange and would use this color extensively when i was a landscape artist way back when, although i think it was Van Gogh who said it was the color of madness...heh heh.
After perhaps a year hiatus its amazing how much can be achieved in a week.
So glad I had prepared all the templates last year.
Its full steam ahead now for an October launch!
Looks so good, Lee! I went out with my son yesterday in bracing conditions: 17-19 knots, gusting to over 20 knots. I put in the first reef before leaving the harbor. The wind has been blowing at gale force down the coast on the outside, so the swell was 4'with a short period, with a smaller south swell making for a bit of confusion! We were making 9-10 knots close-reaching, and it was a wet and bumpy ride!
Hey Kim,did you get any video of your bumpy ride?Lee nice to see you back again.Having the hull on castors is a great idea.
Paul, I always start out with the best of intentions, really! The previous day I tested a new camera location, even. I should have put the camera on as soon as I raised the main, but I left it in the bag; after we left the breakwater behind, I got too involved in the sailing to think about it :~( Every 4th or so swell, we would get a substantial wetting; the air temp was in the low 70's, so we weren't too cold.
That is a cool dolly Lee built; before I had a larger shop, all my "stationary" tools were on wheels.
Good going, Lee
Yesterday I bit the bullet and spent some of my hard earned on an anchor,a 27lb plough type with 8m of chain, maybe a bit beefy but I like to sleep at anchor, probably need it after hauling the thing up on deck.AS i write this my nasa led tricolor mast light has arrived.also i bought two 20 watt solar panels,oh and a raymarine tiller pilot st 1000.
cheers paul the financially embarrassed.
