"I am trying to buy a Pahi 31 which is built following standard plans. Does anybody purchase plans for Tiki 46 type beams and for Tiki rig conversion.
Does it worth the money and the effort ?
I bought my Pahi 31 off of Craigslist in Miami, this was in 2008. It was in very bad shape on anchor at Coconut grove. I paid $2800 for with rigging and sails. As bad as it was on the outside the woodwork on the inside was fantastic…"
"Agree with Galway Bay, but nowhere more so than with the Tikiroa design. Generally because the boat is less idiot-proof than the Tiki 26 and probably better suited to spartan adventures in [tropical]ocean-conditions than short steep seas or places…"
"Agreed Galway Bay.
Unfortunately I no longer have a muti of my own and have to rely on invites from friends. Also on occasion my sons and I rent a Seawind 35 for the day and take our resprective families out for a cruise up the…"
"First of all, thanks for starting this excellent group and for the welcome. Second, having seen your restoration photos I am in awe - I once had the opportunity to purchase a neglected Pahi 31 called 'Gadzooks' but my own inspection,…"

About me or us?
Built my first boat a lath 'canvas kayak with my father 1964. I have been building, mostly to my own designs, as a hobby ever since. My last build was a stitch'n glue surf kayak one year ago. I am almost finished a rebuild and modification of my PAHI 31 which I built approx 20 yrs. ago.
Post photos , take/give advice, check for meet-ups, keep in touch etc...
When I'm not on the water here is what I am at - http://www.wmw.ie trad / folk music.
My apologies for my tardiness, to be honest I simply have not checked for any messages till now. Spent the whole year head down, bum up working on our Hinemoa, Mystery. Got her on the water for two weeks before flying to U.S. to drive Mule wagons for Christmas and now helping inlaws sell house. Yeay!
Glad you like the look of Tacenui Mae, it was love at first sight for me, If I didn't buy her I would have stayed with my Halcyon. There's a few Wharrams on the Exe an unusual Pahi 42 (on Scotts brokerage) built in South Africa with non lashed decks a pod and a rig like a big windsurfer. There's also a Tane that's in need of TLC hasn't moved in years but still appears to float.
Thanks GB. Nice to see another surf shoe paddler. I'm based in Exeter, UK and have been sailing a Tiki 21 this summer. I'm expecting to buy it in the coming weeks. I plan to take it out of the water for a refurb ready for next season. I'll find some photos. For the time being he's a video of our family day out.
