Hi, I am currently in the process of sourcing aluminium tubes for masts for my Tiki 38. Two 11m long tubes 140mm dia 4mm wall thickness is too small order to process. If anyone would be interested to join in we could place a bigger order and get them made. This would also get the price down. I am based in Poland. Shipping to elsewhere could get organized I suppose.
I will probably need them Spring 2015 as the boat is still being built. So there is still plenty of time to get everything organized.

I would recommend you all to having the masts galvanized in bulk right away, this will save a lot of work. I got my masts from a bulk order as well and had them shipped to a galvanizer before I even got them. The only issue has been the additional logistics.
i do have nice wooden masts, but i am considering aluminium ones, depending on the price, i would order 2 pieces of 11,80 metres (the exact interior lenght of a 40 ft shipping container) ... where is the shipping port? mine would be shipped to Uruguay , but will depend on the budget.
does someone researched about prices in canada?
my wooden masts are fine, but they bend too much in heavy winds , thats why i am considering the aluminum ones
the actual accurate weight of the mizzen mast on my boat is 53,7 kilos and exactly 10:00 meters long

I assume you mean anodizing for aluminum. If you want to weld on your masts it is a little trickier. We build lots of stuff from anodized aluminum tubing and we bring in a tig welder. This burns off much less of the anodizing. It takes some skill. If cosmetics don't matter don't anodize. Just my thoughts.
Hi,
I already said, that I am very interested. Would you please let me know, what the price will be and where and when I can pickup my mast?
Thanks, Gerhard
Hello everyone. Sorry for being offline for so long. I have been pretty much working round the clock to get the hulls finished before the winter as we have been blessed with very good and warm weather this year. I have got two hulls finished now and think I have done well as I have started the assembly in April this year!!! Will be getting back to the ali masts subject now. Is anyone still in need?
Bonjour,
Suivant le prix ok pour moi pour 3.
Olivier
Hello Luk,
I think, you have done a great work this year. I think, all of us are still interested in the group order of the masts. For myself: I´m very interested and in need because either I hace to do a repair on the wooden one or I will get one of yours till the next saison.
So let us know, how the things are going.
best regards
Gerhard
