Thanks Boatsmith. That's very kind. Its always a surprise that someone might actually read the blog!

Don't be surprised Roger, you're blog and experience is an inspiration. I've read every word. I've been sailing my T21 for two seasons (nearly), and it's my first sailing boat. Your blog has been the most useful source. Please keep sailing that 21 and bloging as you go. So many turn to bigger boats, and you with your experience still keep it sane. We are faster, cheaper and closer to the water! Thanks, Ian.

Thanks Ian. I think that the adage that the smaller the boat the more it is used (and vice versa) is definitely true - at least from what I see around the marina. But it is hard to resist the urge to go one size larger - in my case it it is the Chief Executive who keeps me in line and the boat at its current length'!

What keeps me from thinking bigger (if only a few feet) is the amount of work. It took me weeks to completely strip and repair this little boat. I can only begin to imagine the work involved in a big one. I like the small compact simplicity of the 21.

Happy sailing - we have only 8 weeks before haul out!
