Hi Johnny,
I visited James and Hanneke last year and they kindly gave me a drawing for a mast foot fitting suitable for an alloy tube mast.I have done a cad drawing of the parts and had a set made up which i am fitting to my tiki26. If you made a suitable base for it on the beam it might be of use.
I bought a Jack Wolfskin Bed and Breakfast tent for £120 for a deck shelter,I hope to eventually get round to something more robust but it seemed pretty much good enough for a while at least, only needing a few fixing points for the pole ends and cheaper than the other option...
I can upload more details if you want...
cheers ed
Hi Ed,
I'll also be interested to see that design. I'm in the process of adding an extra 60cm to the bottom of my alloy mast, and want to make a better foot fitting at the same time. I've been puzzling over how to do it and not yet come up with a design I'm really happy with. I've got new beams so a new base will be needed anyway.
Thanks!
Rob

Hi Ed,
Yes, Johnny got the CAD files through to me ok thanks. I'm working on a variation to give me the best features of that design and the one currently on Johnny's boat, without the disadvantages of either. I want one that allows the mast to move a quite bit without any danger of breaking the top of the crossbeam. I almost got into trouble that way a few years ago. I'll upload pics of my design when it's done as it may be useful to somebody else.
You're welcome to my old tillers and tiller bar, but I've renovated the old rudders and will be using them. I'll upload some pics for you.
All the best
Rob
Hi Ed,
I've sent you an email with pics of the tillers & tiller bar.
All the best, Rob

Rob - I'm very interested in your 60cm lengthening project. I have been thinking of doing exactly the same thing for my tiki 26. Do let me know if you make progress on it.
Tony
Will do, I'll take some pics

Hi Rob - Any progress on that mast extension project ... still v interested in the solution you come up with. Tony
Collected the foot from the fabricator yesterday, everything seems to take much longer than you expect these days...
Will upload some pics soon
Rob
looking forward to it. do you have plan drawings as well?
Hi Rob, can you please upload those mast foot pics?
