Hello Russel and Janet,

There is a video of me turning the hulls of my Tiki-26 "Castor & Pollux"on youtube -> Turning the hulls. It's a little late since you have already managed the task, but nonetheless... There are some more video's of small tasks on the boat which are grouped on the Films-page of my own site. When you click on the thumnails you are directed to youtube automatically. The building proces as a whole can be viewed at Buiding-proces.

When I tested the link about turning the hulls in my previous post it didn't work properly. So lets try again Turning the hulls.

By the way - I turn them much faster now. But since it was only the second time I did it in the film I took it slow.

You can't imagine how convenient it is to be able to turn them at will on your own. It makes everything very much easier to get at and handle. I can recommend it to anyone who has build the lower hulls and FIXED THE FLOORS AND BUNKS. Not before that time since they give the hulls great stifness!

love your work gorby. the bloke who has supplied my hoop pine for the mast brought the last load today.in a previous life  i was a fulltime artist and have some paintings hanging on the wall,i had noticed that he seemed to like the look of a seascape i had done a while ago anyway it turned out i exchanged the painting for the remainder of the mast timber8-)

Thanks, Gorby, thats just the way I did it.  But I did get someone to help me start the first hull turning.  I knew it would work, but still made me nervous.

Greetings all,

After a long wet season hiatus started building again in April. Beams are complete and ready for glass... All from plantation grown Hoop pine.

Laminated 3 layers of 6mm AS exterior ply and have all stems, stern posts & rudders cut out, started on the cheek pieces tonight. should have them all finished next week. Will start on tillers then.

Have all the templates made for every thing that needs duplication and will cut all BH's next week.

Cockpit build week after.

Accruing hatches, deck hardware, paint and other bits & bobs along the way, workshop is getting somewhat cluttered.

In the middle of a refit on an ex charter junk, at the local slipway, so getting a few bits & pieces from leftovers which is a bit of a godsend as trying to keep costs to a minimum.

As you can probably see I'm building backwards getting all the fiddly bits done first before I build the hulls.

well today the second hull is glassed with the skim coat done in one go.i have the top panels to do yet.she looks like a chocolate whale.i received an email from wharram co. today asking as to the prices i paid for my supplies locally i presume they want to update their price estimates.
