A Photo & Discussion Forum for Wharram Design Enthusiasts
Bonjour,
Wednesday 12th we launched my Tiki21, named Bouton d'or, (Buttercup) in Aberdeen, Hong Kong. The next day Bouton d'or was moored in Middle Island. Bouton d'or was built in China, compressed time four months, on a three years time. I'll send later some pictures of navigation. But first I thank you all for your advices, help and support.

Congratulations on the launch, Eric. Looking forward to seeing your new boat.
Plouf, finaly in the water.
Ouch. We put the mast up, a wood mast. A block was stuck under the loopof one shroud, we pulled the hallyard on the side to free it, too much tension, the shroud went of its base, and the mast fall down on another boat. No dammage ro the boat, but the mast is broken. I will make another one aftef new year, but is there a way to tie the shrouds on th boat? Just put a line to maintain them?
Merry Christmas!
Here is one pic of the boat. I start a new mas in January. Inside, for it's cold now.
Hi Eric , sorry to hear about the mast. I noticed the same issue when I went to raise my mast last summer. Fortunately the mast didn't drop, but I added a 'permanent' loop around the 'base' (actually maybe 5 or 6 loops held in place with a cheap metal clip... since it takes no weight; just holds the rope in place). then, I just attach the shroud to that loop with a carabiner that won't slip off. The picture is probably a whole lot easier! hm, got the picture attached, but it's flipped on its side.. oh well, you can see it, plus the rain we get 24/7 here in Vancouver!
