Standing Rigging Lashings

I have recently noticed lashing blocks on a few of the larger Wharram Tiki, Pahi, and Islander designs that look something like this:

Can anyone explain in detail (pictures would help) this system and how it works?

Hi Budget Boater,

this is a photo of the plans for the Tiki 46, the idea is to form some sort of purchase.  One is supposed to lubricate it with wax or similar to make it easier to tighten the shrouds which then run through the grooves and through the deadeyes.  What sort of boat is your picture from?
