that sure is a purty paint job, well done.
Way cool! And the trailer looks interesting as well. . .
Thanks for all the nice comments about my son Hugh's paintwork. I made the trailer ages ago from greenhouse piping and old car units. It's shifted my hulls 3 times to different sheds and I use it for shifting the hulls on site. On the level, it's all light enough for me to push by hand. I have a UK- legal trailer I had made for moving oak beams which I will use to ship the hulls to the UK. Painting again today....
That is one UBER KOOL paint job - stunning! Is it painted directly onto the hull, or onto something like a decal?
-Thanks. It's painted onto the hull from an initial drawing on an A4 sheet. First outlines sketched on then filled in with yacht paint, 2 or 3 coats. The paper design looked a bit too dense , like a tattoo, so we decided on more space in it (cream/white background). On the other hull I would like the same density, but will leave it up to Hugh to put on what he likes. He is used to painting live on stage quite fast, complex designs which develop from an initial idea. He has also done them in sand on the beach between tides...
Would be great to have a mainsail done with that design! Great work - but I hope he'll be around to touch it up every year when it gets some wear and tear... Any plans to make t-shirts with that design - I'd buy one!
