Do you know a cure for me?"

Why yes," he said, "I know a cure for everything. Salt water."

Salt water?" I asked him.

Yes," he said, "in one way or the other. Sweat, or tears, or the salt sea.”

This is Real...

Thx, Paul.

I read somewhere that when you buy plans from Wharram you don't just get a boat design, you get a whole philosophy.  The same is true of joining this forum.  It's wonderful !  Where else could you get help with selecting the right plywood and also the road to happiness !!

I guess it's because people who are attracted to Wharram cats all have a strong streak of individualism, the capacity to think for themselves, practical ability, and a sense of adventure.

I  was on a surf trip recently with a man who has quit drinking after great difficulty and after a full counselling course of help. In my experience some people come through with insights that the ordinary person never develops.

He said to me "Happiness is just a decision you make".

I thought about this for a while and  certainly  the reverse is easy to see - that being miserable is simply a choice  we make. Once we decide to be miserable we can do a 101% job on it.

The more I think about it the more I think he is right.

With apologies to anyone unfortunate to just be unwell.

I tried to give up sailing over 20 years ago.  Had a serious lapse with RYA Day Skipper training.  Now can barely get through a day without glimpsing my study plans.  Have to accept have fallen into addiction again.  Not all addictions are a problem I hope.

(With apologies again to those with more serious addictions).

If the reality is half as much fun as the planning, salt water will certainly be my cure!

there ya go mate, one for you.

LOL

Good one Bao Ya.

Though you should apologize to mosquitoes and to those with swollen testicles (probably caused by unwise attempts at killing mosquitoes).
