A Photo & Discussion Forum for Wharram Design Enthusiasts
Hi Kim,
I'm looking at the pictures of your Rolly Tasker sails and they look really well made. I blew out my old mainsail again in the weekend so am buying some new sails. I got quotes from Jeckells and Rolly Tasker for a main and jib and they are close. I was going to go with the "factory" Jeckells sails. but when I compare photos that I can find of the Jeckells sails, they look very lightly made compared your pictures here. Can you comment on how you've found your RT sails, and is this construction standard (in your pics) or did you have to pay extra.
Many thanks,
Roger
Roger, the Tasker sails are great. The only specifications I gave were for the two reefs in both main and jib. The jib came with the 2 reefs, telltales applied, and the green and red horizontal draft stripes. The main came with the 2 reefs, 2 battens, leech telltales, aluminum clew, and zipper luff, of course. The main also has a heavy grommet down low, aft of the luff sleeve, that would allow the use of a cunningham rigged to the deck. I am more than happy with these sails!
I am trying to find the quote sheet that Mike Tasker sent me, more for his description of the sails than the price, but I seem to have hidden it somewhere on the computer. . .If I should find it, I will post it to you.
IIRC, the phrase "offshore sails" was part of the description M. Tasker had on the quote.
Thanks Kim - much appreciated.
Roger
