Wharram Builders and Friends

A Photo & Discussion Forum for Wharram Design Enthusiasts

I'm pondering between a few of Wharram's sub-30' designs and while all have something I'm keen on, I keep flipping back and forth between the Tiki26 and the Mana. More to the point, I keep looking at the space (and load capacity) that could be made available in the Tiki26 if one were to use the Mana's chined hull. Has anyone come across a chined Tiki26 or know of someone that has investigated this idea?

My question would be which hull shape goes to weather better? Twould be nice for JWD to show us in a sail off.

With luck, we may see a 'sail-off' next summer between the Mana and a Tiki 21. There is a Forum member who has expressed interest in joining the Elbow Run 2018 so if he joins us, and assuming I have completed my Mana build in time, we will be able to make that comparison. I have no idea how the Tiki 21 compares against the Tiki 26 but I expect members of this Forum do.

(The Elbow Run is a week long camping sailing expedition on Lake Diefenbaker, Saskaatchewan, Canada, that a sailing buddy and I started 5 years ago on our WindRider 17 trimarans. I will be posting a video soon of the 2017 event. If there are others out there that would like to take part, let me know and I will add you to my list)
