I am reading an incredible account of a bloke way back when who decided to sail across the Pacific Ocean in an 18ft open boat. This feat in itself is remarkable but he did it against the tradewinds too. What I admire about the man is his can do attitude, some may say blissful ignorance, his contempt for bureaucracy. He made a sextant out of hoop iron and hacksaw blade.Google his name I reckon he may be an inspiration to some.

cheers paul.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for bringing Fred Rebell out of forgotten history. What an incredible character! Love the mans attitude, must try to find a copy of his book "Escape To The Sea".

Regards,

Rob and Beth
