Wharram Builders and Friends

A Photo & Discussion Forum for Wharram Design Enthusiasts

My Tiki 38 (Al Raso) launched in June 2010 is now for sale.  She was built to the highest standards and is FULLY equipped for extended cruising.  All the equipment was purchased brand new in early 2010, nothing is second hand.

We (family of 4) cruised full time for one year and over 6000 nautical miles.  We have now moved on to other things and the boat is for sale, ready to go.  For a complete list of equipment and photos, please contact me at sv.alraso@gmail.com.  The boat is priced to sell; you cannot even buy the materials and equipment for that price and that is not talking about the 3000 hours of work required to build.

I have many more pictures available for anybody interested.  The boat is currently in storage for the upcoming winter but she could be ready to go with 1 day of work only.

Building a boat that size is an experience I am glad I did BUT I would not do again.  It is not easy at all and requires a lot of time, effort, research, etc.  If you want to SAIL a Tiki 38 and not necessarily be a boat builder for many years, this is your chance.  She doesn't need a refit, she is still almost new and very much ready to go.

cordialement,

Bernard

Salut M. Hivon

My son and I met you and your lovely family in Cocoa Florida.  We were with the  Ann and Nev Clement on Peace.  You gave us a quick tour of your vessel.  What is the price please, and where is she now? Where do we find the pictures?

Thank you in advance.

Al Raso is still available.  I have received quite a few inquiries but nothing firm yet.  I understand this is not the best time of the year to sell a catamaran in NE USA but if anybody is seriously looking for a Tiki 38, fully equipped, she is available and we can discuss price; I will consider any and all serious offer.

In the meantime, Merry Christmas all!

Still a lot of interest in my boat but logistics seem to always be a problem.  Obviously, if you live halfway around the world, it will not be easy nor cheap to move the boat on that kind of distance.  What Al Raso needs is a new owner somewhere on the eastern shores of the USA (ideally).  Then the logistics problems would be a lot simpler.  This is a perfect boat to cruise in places like the Bahamas (very shallow draft).

I am still keeping the boat on the market for now.  However, by mid-April 2012 I will have to move the boat from her current location and if I have to go through the trouble, I may very well take her home even if the sailing season is way too short.  So, if you are interested in an excellent boat, super well equipped and ready to go, don't wait too long and contact me.

Martin

David,

please send me an e-mail at sv.alraso@gmail.com and I will send you all the information about my boat.

Cheers

Martin

Spring is coming fast and Al Raso is still available.  By mid-April, I will take her off the market so hurry if you are interested.  You will never find a Tiki 38 almost new, super well equipped and priced to sell like that again.  We had a fantastic year of full time cruising as a family but we have moved on to other projects for now.  I simply have no time for boating for the next few years at least so I am willing to consider reasonable offers.  There is nothing wrong with the boat, I am simply a motivated seller for personal reasons.  Contact me directly for more details.

Hi Martin

I have sent you an email asking for more info on Al Raso.

Is she still for sale?

If not, I hope all works out for you and your family.

If so, I look forward to hearing from you soon

Thanks and regards

Paul Capon
