A Photo & Discussion Forum for Wharram Design Enthusiasts

Hi all,

I find myself in the position of needing to find a good home for my Tiki 31 Bell' Acqua.  I bought her about 3 or 4 years ago and sailed her 500 miles back from France to the South West of England.  Fantastic boat and the adventure is chronicled on my page.

For the last 3 years I have been working as a professional sailor, doing deliveries and teaching RYA yacht courses.  As a result I spend about 6 months a year on the water - in other people's boats - not mine.

Last year I think I managed 5 hours sailing the Tiki, and spent about 6 times that much maintaining her.  And then there's the costs.

I have big plans for the boat and after discussing with Hanneke I am in the process of transforming the accomodation to make the 31 a proper sea boat.

Unfortunately about 3 weesk ago someone stole my engine.  Luckily insured but I am now in the tedious process of paperwork and replaement hunting.  A new replacement is £1,000 more than 12 months ago, with a 5 month build wait.

Long story short, I think it is a good time to find someone to take on the future care and development of my boat.  Best for the boat and best for my wallet.

She's in great condition and with the exception of the engine, pretty much ready to go.

Neat extras - extended rig so she'll do 12+ knots with just one main.

- 3 anchors (cqr, bruce, and danforth) each oversized

- windpilot self steering windvane

- electric auto pilot

- 2 sets of sails and a cruising chut

- 40 litres of unleaded fuel

- new nets fore and aft

- new anti fouling

- new lashings 2009

- 5 sheets of 9mm marin ply

- an estate car full of hard wood pieces for edgings

- a mooring on the River Exe (professionally serviced every year)

- great dinghy (3 sets of paddles)

The boat has been for sale for a while at an optimistic £15,000 (with £3,000 engine). I'm now in the position of listening to any offers.

If I can't find a buyer, I'm on the verge being willing to surrender her as a project to interested parties.  Not quite there yet though.

If anyone is interested, send me a message.  Even better, come and see her.

Cheers

Paul
