My tiki 30 plans mention Barton 600 or 602 winches, and Gibb size 2 577 or 573. Problem is I have not been able to find out winch dimensions or size so as to buy some other brand.

Specifically, Harken winches come in various sizes but I haven't got a clue which size would be appropriate for a Tiki 30.

TIA.

It depends on what type of sailing you do. If you double end the jib sheets a Harken/ Lewmar 16-20 will be fine for most folks. A 32 would be better for single part sheets. A bigger winch is also nice for larger sails such as spinnaker, genoa, screecher. The larger winch is also better for kedging when needed.

Thanks mate.
