About me or us?
WE BUILT AND LIVED ABOARD A WHARRAM 41 FOR MANY YEARS . WE DID MANY MODIFICATIONS INCLUDING A CLEAR FLOOR AND SALON BETWEEN THE HULLS . SAILED GREAT , CRUISED EXTENSIVELY . NOW OFF THE WATER LIVING IN AMARILLO TEXAS , PURCHASED AN INCOMPLETE TIKI 21 , HAVE QUESTIONS .
Looking to?
REPLACE LASHED BEAMS WITH ALUMINUM BEAMS BOLTED INSTEAD OF LASHED , AND REDUCE BEAM TO 8' 6" TO ALLOW THE DECK TO REMAIN FIXED AND FOR EASY LAUCH AT THE RAMP .AND NO PERMIT TRAILERING . OUR USE WILL BE LAKES AND MAYBE COASTAL ONLY , NO OFFSHORE SAILING AT ALL . HAS ANYBODY DONE THIS ?

tiki 21 questions

Our 21 tiki is progressing nicely . I used awlfair for the decks and hull and will continue with awlgrip 545 primer . the decks are complete and  sealed , ready to prime hulls . The next step is the crossbeams . Please please , anyone done this with 3x3 aluminum in place of the original wood beams ? Has anyone bolted the beams rather than lashing them . any feedback would be greatly appreciated .
