"Hi, as Ian points out the deck shouldn't be wobbly. I have two blocks that I screw into the front and rear beams which sit in between the top part of the ibeams and the top of the deck.  Mast height on plan is 21 foot 6 inches or…"

"I think there are very few Rakas. In the Design Book Wharram says that the Raka has never been as popular as the Tangaroa. It was designed as a racing boat, so it has less interior volume than the Tangaroa (and the acomodation of the Tangaroa is not…"

I have come across a cheap Raka for sale - it needs some work but perhaps worth the while. I am keen to hear from other Raka owners as to how they find them; and what sort of sailing do they do with their Raka - local sailing or long distance. How well do they perform in large ocean. Cheers Jay See More

just purchased the Tiki 21 which was built in Queenstown by Paul Brimecombe.

Lake Taupo is her new home.
Looking to?
This is my first Wharram but have the dream to gain a larger one to sail blue water with at a later date. A stepping stone you could say.

Welcome Jay. The T21 is a great boat. You will have many hours of fun sailing her. We visit Taupo occassionally and will give you a shout when we're there. Cheers - Carl

Hi Carl, thanks.

I had seen somewhere here comments about your trailer.

I think you have sold your Wharram now. Do you have a plan for the extendable trailer you had?

We are looking to have a trailer we can build the tiki on and then float it off from; this will also enable long term storage at Tokaanu in the fenced areas. But still want to be able to pack it up and take it to hauraki Gulf and Bay of Islands.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards

jay
