hallo robert. i just checked out your place on google earth... man.... looks realy great. desert... never have seen one... we are still in mayotte. the weather is not so nice. all mozambique chanel is south wind... we hope it will change that we can leave soon. i have to fligh to germany in july. will stay it end of july in south afrika. then we  are planing to sail up  to namibia... can you give me any advise about the weather/ sailing conditions to go up from cap town...

Hi Hans,

Up from Cape Town to Walvis Bay you can expect South Westerly winds from 15-25 knots most days. It can get quite rough as well, at times. There are not too many places to stop, basically Luderitz and then Walvis Bay.

In Walvis the weather can vary a lot in winter with cold days between 12 and 17c and hot days between 20 and 35c.

I can take around a bit and if you want to go further I can arrange it. You are also welcome to stay with us if you want a bit of time on dry land.

Interestingly many people here speak German, ich verstehe auch ganz gut aber, ich bin nicht so gut beim schreiben und reden.

Brazil is easy to get to from here, my sister sailed across in 1998 via St Helena, Ascension and Fernando de Noronha.

Stuff is reasonably cheap here if you earn Euro or USD. You do not need a visa if you are on an EU passport and want to stay less than 3 months.

That is what I know for now.
