I am wondering if the drain holes in the Hitia 17 hulls are really necessary. It is a bit weird to me to make deliberately holes in the hulls...

I figure that I could get out any water also throught the hatches, maybe I have to scoop for a while...

Has anyone made experiences where they were needed?

Hi martin,

Personally, i think that drain holes are only useful if your boat lies on moorings for a long time.

At sea i prefer a good hand-bailer and some buoyancies in front and aft compartments, just in case.

Hi Marc,

thanks, that was exactly my reasoning!
