Kiko and friends out paddling/sailing his excellent double-canoe. I had the pleasure of meeting Kiko at the launching of Glen Tieman's tama moana, Manurere. Kiko oversaw the rigging setup, and guided us on the first sail. Many thanks!

Great boat I know that area well . It is on the big Island of Hawaii at a place caled Hawaii Kai .My family lives near there. Hawaii kai has a number of traditional canoes. A large double canoe called
Te Aurere simular to Hokule'a and a beutiful and traditionaly built proa from I believe the Caroline islands.

I am trying to arrange a trip to Hilo, HI for a training conference. Any chance they know any places to stay, eat - I don't support the big, and the chain guys. I like small business, locals, I would like to see this when I am there.
