My partner and I are building a Narai MK IV. We have a blog describing the process, and would welcome visits from Wharram builders and friends. (In person would be lovely of course! But to the blog is fine too.)
Here's the link to the blog:
I look forward to your comments -- and I hope you are prepared for my [likely many!] questions.

I'm taking care of my 84 yr. old Mom, awaiting the start of my Narai MK IV . Doing research in the time before!!!! Thought it was interesting you are building a greater beam, I was thinking 24',.... I'm following your blog, wish you were closer, best to you two... David
Thanks for your best wishes, David, and good luck to you with your Narai Mk IV! You likely know from our blog that we have Mom responsibilities too -- Robbie's is 90 and mine 88 and they both live with us.
We're building as per the design -- our max is 21'. We're building to plans, but using the Design Improvement Packages. That does give us a slightly wider beam. "No naval architecture" is one of our mottoes!
Where are you? As you know, we're in the gulf islands.
All the best,
Mary
I'm in the Atlanta area ... Mom just fell and is doing poorly ... she is still in the hospital ... she'll be 86 in October ... I can't start mine till she is gone ... her care takes much time but it will be my full time project then ... thank you so much for your blog ... I'm living through you right now ... stay in touch ... David
I do wish you and your Mom all the best, David. It can be a really hard road. We're plugging along on the build -- this week busy with our folkboat, which we got hauled out for spring bottom and topside painting.
Hi Mary! Its nice to know there is another Wharram builder near me. I am in Fanny Bay and I hope things are moving along.
Just thought I would say Hi and introduce myself.
Hi! I am Dave from Fanny Bay and I have A MkIV Tangaroa.
Cheers!
Hi Dave! Wow, a Tangaroa in Fanny Bay -- that's amazing! We were just by there a little while ago coming back from the Vancouver Island music fest. We (my partner Robbie and I) would love to meet you and your boat at some point.
We're trucking along though at the moment slowed to a crawl by a home renovation project. All things that have to be done, but sometimes a bit frustrating too.
Did you build your boat?
Another local Wharram you might be aware of is Piggy, whose home port is Ladysmith. She's an Ariki and is currently on her second major trip --- circumnavigated many years ago and now is back in New Zealand. Our day will come!
Do you sail mainly on the strait?
Mary
