No- unfortunately, he built it as a tacking outrigger. But I think it was close to JWD's original concept. Have you seen his latest 70'er? About to be first to sail around the world in a proa.....
He did a pretty impressive voyage in this boat tho'. Impressive man and sailor!
The rig on the original JWD proa was a non starter- while good as a concept,nobody has made it work yet.
