Any one can confirm that this is a Narai?

Comment by Dave Mundy on May 23, 2015 at 11:10am: Possibly Andrés She was started in 1984 then sold as a incomplete project in 1988 and then some one else took over in 2012 and finally got her in the water in august of 2014. I picked her up in March and finally got the mast up last week! So plans and history have been lost over the years and ownership changes. She has a 19foot beam and the hulls are 35' long. So I am back and forth about Narai or Tangaroa.

Comment by Andrés on May 23, 2015 at 11:21am: In the picture seems narrower. The Tangaroa MK 4 has a 19' beam and 35'6'' lenght overall, and the MK 1 has 34' lenght overall (JWD Design Book), so it seems to be a Tangaroa MK 4, not a MK 1.

Comment by Dave Mundy on May 23, 2015 at 11:23am: I have a mast off of a C and C 30 but need a mainsail with a foot around 12' if any one knows of one. I willpost some more pics. if anyone can help with identifying. I also need to find and install the Side Stay mounts on the hulls. if anyone has some ideas or insight in regards to this i would really appreciate it. Right know i have 3/8 stainless rigging lines that are to short. I am using multiple loops of 1/4 in nylon braid to make up the difference and allow for a little stretch. I am doing things on the cheap so sourcing used hardware and re-purposing other parts. So ideas and any info helps.

Comment by Dave Mundy on May 23, 2015 at 5:19pm: I know itlooks funny back there. It was put on by the last guy who had it to mount his radar and lights. I am at odds as to whether or not to keep this. It is handy for speakers and a place to mount solar panels but I am concerned about weight and stress on the hulls because it doesnt flex much and is mounted with bolts to the back of each hull. It acts like a mizzen sail abit too. It looks cool but I have mixed emotions about what to do.

Comment by Dave Mundy on May 23, 2015 at 6:32pm: none of the hatches are on rails. The front hatches are hinged and only open 90 degrees. the rest have deep lips and fit snug. Too snug when its hot out. got give the a good tug to open them. The main cabin hatches could use some slides or stops at a minimum. they do slide up and rest on the top nicely put could potentially slide right off if your not careful. So i am going to glass a ply "L" plate on the inside bottom half of the hatch lid to catch on the top.
