Plans call for 4mm ply for sheathing. Can 6mm ply be used as a substitute (it is locally available where I live).

Thanks you! I had the same problem. I used 6mm ply since it is the only ply available. I haven't tested it yet, but we'll see.
Completed the Hitia14, now looking for a proper sails. -
