I am replacing the outer hull stringers which have rotted due to cracks in the fiberglass where the deck and hull meet. I am trying to avoid removing locating blocks and beam pads. My doublers are not rotten and I am hoping to dig out the stringers from behinfd the pads and then slide the new ones in. And then fiberglass on either side of the pads where the stringers run along the top of the hull. I realize this is a vague description... anyway, do people generally fiberglass the doublers? Any suggestions for reinforcing the hull to deck area to avoid recurrence of this problem?
