Yes toon about refiberglassing doublers

I am replacing the outer hull stringers which have rotted due to cracks in the fiberglass where the deck and hull meet. I am trying to avoid removing locating blocks and beam pads. My doublers are not rotten and I am hoping to dig out the stringers from behinfd the pads and then slide the new ones in. And then fiberglass on either side of the pads where the stringers run along the top of the hull. I realize this is a vague description... anyway, do people generally fiberglass the doublers? Any…See More

hello everyone— I have the tiki 26 hauled and on the trailer in my yard. I’d like to do some maintenance and repair this Spring. I have the build manual (green cover, spiral bound, lots of hand-drawn pics) but I don’t have the lines or measurements sheets. What else is included in the original plans package? Thanks,MichaelSee More

Hi Michael, sorry to take so long, I gave up my t 26 and so don't visit here much.

For the shrouds, I used 6mm or 1/4" dyneema. For the forestay, I used 9-13mm dux (heat-treated dyneema), because it does not stretch: this keeps the standing rigging snugged up. When I used plain dyneema for the forestay, the rigging would get sloppy, and have to be re-tensioned frequently.

You could attach to chainplates...I used chainplates to aluminum deadeyes to the shrouds. I can hunt up pictures, they are not on this new machine!
