G,day all.

I have been considering making  a smaller hatch to be situated over the main sliding hatch. This will allow me to stick my head out in foul weather and keep the cabin and contents dry. The main hatches are oversized and would be dangerous in an open position in bad weather.

I do not want to buy off the shelf hatches as they are really expensive, would a type of sliding hatch work ?

What would you do?

If it is just to see out, and you do not plan on using it to climb out or make sail adjustments, why not just use a bubble window?

mate, I have considered them, but crikey they are ugly.

Paul, how about the soft weather hatches that Rory uses on Cookie?

Kim I have given this a bit of thought, but i feel that the large open hatch would still be a vulnerable point, i have looked at Robert hughes' hatch set up and may go down this route.

cheers paul.

2 holes = 2 times trouble...

Yes, normally there is two hatches for Tikiroa, i condamned one for less trouble
