Honestly don't know with any degree of precision. Two of us could just about pick it up at waist level and move it around on the stands, took a triple block set-up to lift it onto the beams and it was not easy. I worked out it has about 10 sheets of ply in it as well as the foam for the sandwich roof and the epoxy. I would guess around 200 kg. total.

I would not want to sail a boat long distance without some sort of deck shelter, even the tropics can get cold when it's wet and the wind is blowing. I considered it essential but then the plans for the T38 call for it anyway. I'm not sure how it would effect a Tangeroa. You could certainly make it a lot lighter without sacrificing too much protection if you don't have to build in the mast support structure. You could make a framed structure with a thin skin that would be much lighter.
