guess I've missed any description of these deck pads on my plans#150 .They look very nice.

ah there they be pictured back on pg.9  .Im not so shure I want to go with webbing straps either.Zee are you planning rope lashings all around? How have you altered the beam-ends?

looks quiet cheap... why not a solid wood block... this are the cross beam fitting or attachments for.

it...

i do not like it

by the way.... i do not understand, that a webbing strap should be better then the rope systems in the plans...this are the may connections on the boat...

My plans make no provision for rope lashings. They show hard woodblocks similar to the ones pictured except that they have narrow slots just above the deck . Webbing straps go through this slot and up around the beams holding the boat together.I hope to use the old rope style of connecting hulls to crossarm beam .

This actually may not be so simple to do. Involve reinventing the wheel again

I'm making outside on the hull rope lashing ,the original system as it is much stronger and has a wider bracing points .

I have no hardwood any where on the boat , instead I am using plywood sandwich with glass in between , than glassing it all on the deck . This similar system I used on may 50 foot cat at many high load structural points , its a bit of an overkill on this boat but is lighter and stronger than hardwood , weather proofed and offcats are plentiful..

What are you using to anchor the lower end of your rope lashings to?                                                                            It seems to me the considerable effort of constructing the crossbeam support boxes[ the stuff below deck] only works to their maximum potential  with the slotted deck block and strap system.

yes ,you right there John , I did build the support boxes as I was not sure which system i will go for at the time ... for rope lashing I made plywood pads in the same way as the beam support , sandwich of offcuts with glass in between , they are bolted into the inside of the beam support box and glass on to the boat , as per plan for alternative lashing (original lashing system for Tiki 30 )
