Is that a trango cinch? I'm trying to decide between that and a gri-gri 2 right now.

I am getting used to it, as it's new, but as soon as my weight loads the GriGri 2, it jams the rope nicely. . .

Brad, let me add that the GriGri 2 lets the line flow easily thru it when not loaded: nice when hauling yourself up.

Yeah I have used the original for doing giant rope swings and climbing, but the old one is pretty large. I'm teaching the wife to climb now, and don't really trust her belaying me outdoors with an atc yet (requires much more attention), so I was looking at either the Grigri 2 or the cinch. Looks like I'll go with the Grigri. I was worried about the grigri 2, being smaller, not flowing well with my larger diameter rope. Thanks for the info, Kim.
