broken shroud

Is it galvanised wire or stainless? Looks to me like galvanised material. May be a problem of corrosion. My shrouds are also made of galvanised material but very carefull treatet with tar, sealed with tarsoaked garment and protected with tartreated thread.

From what I have read, there is galvanized wire, and then there is REAL galvanized wire. . .The real stuff has the strands galvanized individually before being wound up into the final cable.. The cheap stuff is galvanized after being wound up into cable.
