About me or us?
I live in Broome Western Australia with my family and work in adult education. I am passionate about protecting the amazing environemnt of the Kimberley region, one of the last wilderness areas in the world. This is currently under threat from industrilisation. Google 'Save the Kimberley' or 'Environs Kimberley' for more information.
Looking to?
I purchased a Wharram Tiki 38 from the Mentawai Island off SUmatra and sailed over 6 weeks via Java, Bali, Komodo and Timor back to Broome. I have since done several trips in my area to the Rowley Shoals and to the Buccanneer Archipelago. I am looking to continue this in 2012 with an extended trip to the Spice Islands and Raja Ampat from April to October
Hi David, was interested to see Jigal on the beach at Broome (Catalinas?) I had a Tiki21 briefly in Broome before moving to Exmouth where I cruised the coast from Shark Bay to Dampier. Loved the boat but often found it bit small. Sold it and bought a 22' folding tri which had more room inside with the added advantage of being easily trailerable. Sold that when I moved out to Lord Howe Is (weather observer). I may now be returning to Broome sometime this year and am contemplating a larger wharram or another trailerable tri. I remember Broome as being a bit exposed so was wondering what your experience has been with a larger boat, moorings, cyclone season etc. There are 2 Tangaroas that I know of for sale, Salad Days in Carnarvon and Karua on Langkawi Is Malaysia. Both seem to be in good nick and worth considering. Do you know either of these boats? Any feedback would be appreciated. cheers, rob
