Tomorrow Friday evening, we'll be on board Grand PHA in Geelong to sail untill Sunday afternoon bu tI don't know yet where we'll anchor the Saturday evening. Last week-end we sailed to Portarlington, but to sail back in Geelong we had 25-30kts in the nose.
Next time we'll be onboard will be after our return from Tasmania at the end of February.I'll be onboard almost all the time exept during a few days in Alltona untill the end of April because I want to check the boat with little improvements and to build a new tender.
Dear Dave, the windvane system designed by wharram works fine and efficent on long voyages. It needs a good adjustment so it takes its time until it works proper, but then its amazing. Its steering all courses including spinnaker. If have also an electrical autopilot this is very useful for shorter cruising and motoring.
Dear Dave, as you say, the trimtabs are permanently inside the water. To get the pin strait up that connects the tab with the steering wood/lines, I had to use a bit of the rudders as tabs. If you bolt the tabs outside of the rudders you will end up with the pin quite far away from the end of the rudder.... cheers
