So what kind of Trailer configurations are out there. I've seen pics of one trailer that the boat could be built on or disassembled and collapsed. Anyone else have anything like that?

Hi Brandon,
Attached are 3 pics of my trailer for the T21. It works a treat. When assembling the boat, the hulls are at the correct spacing for the beams etc. Being so light, it is easy to assemble on my own, and launching, retrieving is very easy too.
The trailer has been renovated since these photos were taken. It tows beautifully too.
Cheers

That looks pretty sweet... some close ups of the movable parts would be awesome, but thanks for posting!
There is a picture of Kim's T26 trailer on a recent post. That is the nicest Tiki trailer I have seen so far. David
I'm wishing I could talk to Rick Hueschen. I've friend requested him but he hasn't been around the site I guess. I liked the simplicity of his design. I am curious how stable it was when extended, and How difficult it was to extend and collapse with the boat on it.

Hi Brandon. That is the telescoping trailer I designed and built for my Tiki 21. It has been working great. I can assemble and launch at a public ramp singlehanded in about !.5 hours. Less time with my family helping. I'm hoping to put together some measurements this winter and post it on this website. Call me anytime with questions at 919-475-9224. Rick.

Now that is an awesome trailer. I would love to get any info I can on it. I'll call tomorrow around 3 central time. So you live near OBX right? I visited there last summer, and spent a day in Beaufort... great city... I am looking to take Element to OBX next summer, (Around Ocracoke) maybe we can meet up and compare boats... Sandy looks amazing in your pics nice work! If you have more pics and the time to send some, my email is Itsagamble@gmail.com, and any pics you have of the trailer will really help in my planning and construction.

Thanks for the reply and pics posted!

These are awesome... I really appreciate the pics and the time on the phone the other day.

Rick I hope you don't mind I added your pics in my blog. If this in any way bothers you I'll delete the post. Check it out and let me know.

Thanks again

Hey Carl,

I don't get it. How do you move the hulls from the upper trailering position down to the lower launching cradle?

I had thought of a design that would pivot a single cradle system from trailerable position up and over the trailer fender to the nice low launch position you achieve (great for short boat ramps), but my Tiki 21 hulls are too heavy for me to lift more than one end at a time...

Ahh... maybe you're lifting one end at a time and pivoting between and moving those little support "Vs"?

Thanks,
Scott

Ahoy Rick,

That is an inspiring solution! Can you please explain (with photos or words) two things:

1) How did you fasten the round pipes to the trailer (and each other?)? If welded, what technique did you use? If with bolts through a single side of the outer pipe, how do you avoid conflict/friction with the inner pipe?

2) Do you find that the hulls are low enough on the trailer that you can float the assembled boat off the trailer on typical-length boat ramps without submerging your car? If so, what size trailer do you use?

Keep up the great work.

Thank you,
Scott
