Building a Tiki 30 and was thinking why can’t you use an aluminum mast from a monohull and modify it to accept the tiki stay points , etc? This may be a really dumb idea , but have to ask.

Tiki masts are circular section, or supposed to be. Most alloy masts off monohulls are tapered and/or more like an oval section with a sail track for the main. You are better off buying some tubing and making your own imho but who am I to say.

Small things are critical to sail setting. Today i have been setting up a mizzen I bought 30 years ago from D Sails and have never used, so it is "brand new". It is cut a bit fuller than the Jeckells sails I have and the gaff pocket is different so I have had to fiddle about a bit. I am using it to bum around with and save the Jeckells for passage making.

3 hours of tweaking with the sail up (and down) on the pontoon got me a flat sail..............bit knackered after pulling  it up and down about 10 times.....
