A Photo & Discussion Forum for Wharram Design Enthusiasts
Hi all,
We are reluctantly offering our beautiful Tiki 38 for sale. 'Jumpa Lagi' ('meet again' in Indonesian/Malaysian) built in Brunei in 2007.
We bought her 3 1/2 years ago in the Philippines then sailed her, via Palau, to Raja Ampat in Indonesia where we fell in love with the area. We've been cruising (and doing conservation work) in Raja Ampat ever since.
We've just repainted her above and below the waterline. Just fitted 4 x 150w new solar panels. Just done overhauls on both Yamaha 9.9hp 4stroke engines. In calm water she cruises very economically with one engine at 5knots. Both engines full gives 7knots.
When we bought her we installed an integrated Garmin chart plotter, wind instruments, sounder & radar system. We also installed a big Icom HF radio. She has a separate colour sounder, vhf radio and sound system.
She's sails very well. Our best speed, with just a small reacher and mainsail, unassisted by waves, was 11.4knots with 17knots on the beam. In 15knots she'll sail between 7 & 10 knots all day and, being lightweight, she also sails well in light airs.
You'll find videos of her sailing, just search YouTube for 'Jumpa lagi sailing' or here's two links:
