Hi everyone,

This is mainly a question for the Brazilian members however any input from others are more than welcome..

I am currently in cabedelo, in brazil and am preparing to head North and I need to fuel up. However as I understand it most gasoline fuel in brazil is a minimum of 20% ethanol. This of course posses a problem as my 2011 Yamaha 4 stroke outboards can handle only a 10% ethanol mix, and I know my old 10hp honda hated using fuel with any ethanol in it so ideally I want a non ethanol fuel but I'm not sure if this is available!!
So the big question is how do the local outboards manage with this ethanol blend and is there an ethanol free fuel available and if so what is it called and where can I get it or is there some kind of magic additive available that solves the issues.
I am busy looking on Google but so far no joy hence the questions...

Any advice is much appreciated!!

Cheers

Marty

Ask for Podium in BR gas staition. Podium is a comercial name a kind of gas, more clear 95 otcanes . 15% more expensive, and dificult find. You will find in gas station beside big shopping centers and luxury places, I use in my YZ 250 USA a long time and no problem always clear and good start.

In TikiRio I use comom gas, and not realy good. But I have one SAILOR 9.8 hp, one brazil/china model...

Thanks roger,
I will have a look at this fuel as you suggest, hopefully it will be ok.
It appears that fuel with ethanol added is less stable and is more prone to seperation issues after storage more than a few weeks due to water being absorbed into the ethanol and that it may have increased corrosion issues. So I guess that I'll just budget to have just enough fuel and use it before it goes off!

Does anyone have any experience of adding fuel stabilisers??

Cheers

Is true this fuel (Podium) have ethanol too, but too much better. And the corrosion manifest after 1 or 2 years...If you can, buy new bigger giglês for your carburator (If eletronic injection...forget the firmware have one level for auto fit)

Cheers
