lashing ropes

Please all of you make sure to use uv-protected ropes for lashing. I lost my mast this summer, because the lashing of a shroud broke and the second on luv half a second later.

I found my rudder lashings in a very poor condition above waterline and will renew them after only 2 years. Sure, that I used the wrong material.

Strange, what material did you use, I had lashingss on boats lasting nearly and over ten years and subject to quite some stress.

It was cheap material from a Baumarkt / property market. Covered PP I think.
