A Photo & Discussion Forum for Wharram Design Enthusiasts

Hello all,
I have exactly this rig design of Amate a Pahi 42, but since I bought the boat used and the seller was unfortunately not an honest person, I did not get a rig plan despite agree. I would like to know where the attachment points etc. are. I also have problems with the sail when reefing.

I can't take any pictures right now as we have completely disassembled the boat to make repairs. Old pictures with the sails I have of course.

I would be very happy if someone could help me gladly also PM.

Thanks in advance for your help Oli

Managed to get the right Picture on the Page. Hope somebody can help me. I found that Picture in the Facebook Group Wharram Catamarans.

I live in Madagascar and have built a Pahi 42 with schooner rig.

Sailed it from Cape Town to Nosy Be 13 years ago.

What is it that you would like to know?

Hello Lovako,

Unfortunately, I’ve only just seen your message today, as I very rarely visit the forum. Please accept my apologies for taking so long to get back to you.

Would it be possible for us to communicate via WhatsApp? If you like, we can exchange our contact details through a private message.

I own a Pahi 42, which the previous owner converted to a schooner rig with wingsails. However, I’m still unfamiliar with this rig configuration. In particular, I’m not sure how the running rigging is arranged, and I’m also unsure how the mast foot should be properly constructed and attached to the beam.

I’m concerned that the existing construction may not be strong enough. It’s difficult for me to imagine that the mast can be adequately supported by just four bolts fastened into a beam.

We are currently rebuilding the beams and working on improving the structure, so your help would be extremely valuable to me. Photos showing your mast foot and how it is attached to the beam would be particularly helpful. Any information about the running rigging for your wingsails would also be greatly appreciated.

I would like to apologise once again for overlooking your reply for so long. I’ve been researching this subject intensively recently, but unfortunately, I never received an email notification informing me that you had replied to my post on the forum.

Of course, you’re also welcome to reply here on the forum or contact me via private message. Either option is absolutely fine. I’ll make sure to check the forum more regularly from now on.

Thank you very much for your understanding. I’m really looking forward to hearing from you, as I genuinely need some guidance with this project and would love to benefit from your experience with your Pahi 42 and wingsails.

Best regards,

Oliver
