It really could have been sailed gently as it was, but Hawaii waters are rarely gentle, so I've begun grinding out rot in the starboard hull, which had leaky hatches and hinge blocks. The port hull is in good shape- I'll get some interior pics up soon.
Guess what, my sister lives in Mountain View, I was just there Easter, Merrie Monarch. Ha. Good luck on your restoration. Great harbor in Hilo, the coast is rough, but you can scoot around to the Kona side when it gets too rainy. Catch an Ahi for me.
I live on Oahu and get over there to Hilo every once in a while to see friends. I will have to look you up next time I get over that way. I have a Tiki 21 in Portland, Or. that I am trying to ship over to Oahu hopefully by the end of summer. A Polynesian cat should be in Polynesia! Hopefully I can figure it out and get that thing over here.
Cool beans, John! There are at least three other Wharrams that I know of in Hilo right now (still might be a couple of them for sale, if anyone is interested). Definitely message me if you make it over here.
Will do, and you do he same if your over here... especially if i can manage to get that boat over here by the end of summer! Things are looking good in that respect.

Looks like scrub, paint, and go! I would love to see more pics of the inside as you have her now. Ann and Nev

All the best, John.
