The Tiki trailer with swing out cradles is well under construction. I've made some structural improvements including additional crossmembers and attaching the A frame and drawbar to the underneath per Aus/NZ trailer standards. Ive also added longitudinal drawbar stiffeners to reduce flex. With all material being 5mm steel I think it's a bit of an overkill but considering it could theoretically take a T30 then I'm glad it's extra strong. Suspension is all rated to 1500kg and has disc brakes connected to a hydraulic over ride coupling. Coupling is rated to 3500kg per local regs.
I'll ensure some details !Ike hinges are photographed as that might help someone else.
Cost so far is a little over AUD$2000. I still have to buy a beefier jockey wheel which was an oversight.
For the sake of interest, I know the owner of an engineering shop locally. I showed him the plans and he said there would be no change from AUD$10,000 to commission him to build the trailer.
I hope this helps others contemplating building these trailers. It's a very straight forward build but it does help to have a son who is a real welder.
