About me or us?
Interested in Catamarans and Trimarans. Looking for a very seaworthy boat in the 21' - 30' range for short day trips around the area ( Puget Sound ) and for potential longer trips up and down the North West coast. Possible trip to the inside passage to Alaska (or part way up). Exploring the many boat only access beaches and the thousands of places to explore in this expansive area.
We are an old couple (getting to the upper 60's) so not sure the Wharram catamaran is the right choose for us, reasons:
Does it require to much athletic ability (older sailer with some back issues) to sail, safely? 2) It's cold and wet (raining) for a large part of the year here, so sailboats and powerboats have sheltered cockpits, Bimini, framed in pilot houses, etc. We have not seen Wharram Catamarans with shelters that you can sit at a table to eat together, or sleep together at anchor. A place to get out of he rain and cold, a place to or rest and warm up and sit up right out of the weather.
We have order Wharram book on Choosing the right boat, so we'll see what we learn.
