A home builder, I want a Wharram, Other Multihull, Other Monohull
What boat (s) are you building or do you own?
Melenesia - plans have been great inspiration, will knock one together eventually.
Ulua - my outrigger canoe fixation was inspired by the Melenesia, but I really love building in strip plank. 98% there - just need to do some finishing and build the sailing rig.
Country, City, and State?
USA, Merritt Island, Florida
About me or us?
I have been lurking around the Wharram site, and other blogs and sites about them for almost 13 years. During this time I have build several small boats and canoes (stitch and glue as well as strip plank). I love the process of building from dreaming to enjoying the product with family and friends.
PK78 - 8' sailing pram
Light Sculling Trainer - as kayak per Hannu's Boatyard
EasyB - 12' cedar strip canoe - per Duckworks
Ulua - 18' outrigger canoe in cypress/cedar strip
Currently sailing an Islands 17 (similar to Tanzer 16)
I have been sticking to small boats due to life and space constraints at first, but have found quite a bit of joy in building many smaller projects. A recent move to the east coast of Florida has rekindled my desire for a larger vessel. The Bahamas aren't that far away, nor is a trip to the Key or 10,000 islands. Perfect playground for a Wharram Tiki 21, or 26, or 30, or 31, or the Amastasi, or maybe the Tahiti Wayfarer, or perhaps the Tikaroa...
There will be a coastal Wharram in my future. I will be watching here for good advise and ideas.
