"My life could not have had the form that it did without James Wharram. Although I never met him, I was always inspired by him. Very few people are able to do great things, better things, pushing out the boundaries, which contradict the mainstream…"
"RIP Jim. We are so lucky that Jim (and Hanneke) left us with his book "People of the Sea" as well as his achievements and his designs -
Jim had a profound intellectual hinterland. He learned to self-study in the "radical…"
"Very sad news. A man never to be forgotten.
I met him once, maybe twenty years ago, when we spent a week on Gaia. He struck me as a true gentleman, a one-off with his own ideas, with a healthy disregard for convention and a disarming…"
"I used a truck to move my Tiki 26 almost 100 kilometers. It was a small truck, and we had to make two trips, one hull at a time. Also, we need a lot of people to move the hulls (we are not very strong). But it was fun!"
"In my plans there are no dagger boards, but I have seen it in the study plans. The ones in the study plans are in a very forward position, so I don't think that it could be useful. I have not seen any T26 with dagger boards."
I'm in Rio de Janeiro and I have already bought the Tiki26 building plan. I saw the tend you have on your Tiki and I would like to know if the design cames in the Wharram package or if it is your creation. As I have written at TIKI 26 Group I need a very good sun protection in my future boat. I wonder if I can add some lenght to the mast so I can make a "bimini" like a roof as I saw on a picture of a Tiki 30. If for any chance you will come to Rio, please let me know. My e-mail is email@example.com. Have a nice day, Alexandre
Dear Andres, We have sent you an email but just in case you do not get it we are John and Kat from Australia, members of the PCA and we are building a 42' Pahi due to launch in about a year. We will be in Montevideo on Friday 28th January just for the day. If you are going to be in the area and would be happy to meet with us to discuss Wharram building and owning, we would enjoy it very much. Please let us know as soon as possible.
John and Kat
