This bird stayed with me for a day and a half offshore crossing to Apolacheecola

He was my crew on the trip back to Panama City. Stayed with me from Punta Gorda to Goverment cut at Appolacheecola

That's a great passage time if you made Apalachicola from Punta Gorda in just a day and a half.  It took me that long just from Anclote Key to Apalachicola on my monohull.

Actually on looking back I had anchored for the night in Placida Harbor by Bird key the south end of Little Gasparilla island. On that crossing I sailed most of the day then during the night motored as it was dead calm next morning still had 90 miles to go. The second day I was motoring and sailing as conditions changed it was 41 hours.

I have done the crossing to Clearwater Pass twice 27 & 25 hours, Hurricane pass twice 27 & 34 hours and Longboat pass at the south end of Anna Marie Island 29 hours

Looking forward to doing those same crossings on my Tiki 26 soon.  Are you sailing down to Islamorada for the rendezvous this time?
