Hi Rogerio,

looking very strong. 7 turns should suffice. How do you plan to tension the lashing? Frapping turns seem not to be possible.

Cheers,

Wolf

tie the frapping at 90 degrees to the lashings so you have it running under the the cleat on the side of the beam?

You could glue a piece of hardwood - say 5cm - on top of the beam. Then you do the lashing; first turn left of the block, second turn right, third turn left again of the block and so on. After that you have probably the space for a frapping turn. Just a thought...

Put in a wedge?  Maybe two wedges with one going one way and the other the other way and a little lashing line to keep them in place?

Rogerio, those blocks are designed to be used straps. I don't think you can get enough tension on your lines with this method. The lashing method uses plates attached to the shear strakes. This allows enough separation between the  bundles of lashings to make frapping an effective means of tensioning. David

you could put a lashing between the in board lasing and the outboard lashing and tension this lashing to pull the beam lashings tight.

David I Know, I choice a third method of book build, and I will glue one piece of ply each side of the ropes, to keep them in place. The problem is the tension, I not discard the straps, but is difficult here find the right material.  In doubt, I prefer the ropes.

And have one problem with this blocks for straps. I',m alone in south america, and have a lot of doubts, whem align the blocks, we decide respect the 4cm tickness minimum, and this decision make blocks too high. Mainly in the front beam, If the decision were lashing outside the hulls (like tiki 26) all blocks can have 4cm tickness maximum (the diference is outside and inside the blocks)

But this rope is aparent strong, one bowline, one sheetbend double, and five singles knots, maybe a double wedges give me a ideal tension.

And in water if will have some problem, we can change for straps some day.

Build to strech...
