It is a very simple system for self-steering in windward courses. There is a shock cord with a rope in both ends. One rope is tied to a cleat in the tiller bar and the other to an eyestrap in the rear o the windward cabin.

You can see in the next picture there are an eyestrap with a block in each rear cabin. There is two cleats in the tiller bar wich is also useful for tie up the helm in port. With the two cleats you can put shock cords to both sides (the leeward side slacker than de windward side), this is more efficient and useful when tacking, but is more work. The blocks in the eyestraps are for a sheet-to-tiller arrangement on broad reach courses, but is difficult to me to explain it in english. You can see pictures in
